Had the unpleasant task of getting someone out of the IHP - RES programme. They are showing signs of restlessness but also settling down to their work-stations ... with their precious possessions ... Some them are yet to get into the mood of blogging ... <br /> <br />Talking about release of result ... look at their faces ... like just out of the tombs from graveyards ... Will it affect their super loong weekend ? <br /> <br />Dread to think of 16 Nov 04 ... those who pass will play hard and forget about IHP (RES) ... those who fail to pass will be so mooody ... also will forget about IHP (RES) <br /> <br />Why? Whew, I survived! What can I say? Before I could have a break from them, here they are right in front of me! One dozen, can you imagine ... one dozen of them! <br /> <br />Conducted a briefing on the IHP-RES programme. Actually nothing new, had already spoken during the day when publicity on the IAP/IHP was conducted before they made their selection on the area of training. <br /> <br />Got them thinking about their applied research project ... graveyard & property values ... red light district, property values, decision making on the day of purchase, land-use study ... shoppers & shopping centres ... who are they, what do they buy, where do they come from, when do they come, how do they come ... and what else ... ... <br /> <br />Explore the net with them and managed to find some research study done in US ... properties within 200 m of a graveyard showed a reduction of some 8% compared to those further away. Was asked ... why look at overseas ... ? Well, locally, study may not have been conducted, literature review of past works done, also compare the same pattern of behaviour of property values ... <br /> <br />Hope they understand ... really ... my teaching getting bad these days ... <br /> <br />They wanted to go off early ... no lah ... discipline is discipline ... understand them, previously like birds like that ... fly here, fly there ... 2 weeks break do them no good ... now get locked up from 9:00 - 16:30 ... BUT like birds also what ... got caged up mah ... <br /> <br />Don't know how they feel ... long weekend ... maybe at Parklane playing pool or Jurong Point playing video game or maybe already @ JB!
